When did you start with yoga and how long have you been practicing?

I started practicing Yoga in 2016 and started my first Yoga Teacher Training in 2017.

Why is yoga important in your life?

Yoga has helped me to connect with myself, my body, my emotions and creativity. Whenever I feel stuck in any area of my life all I have to do is remember that I get to decide how I want to look at things and feel about them. Becoming aware of my breath and posture helps me to flow with life rather than forcing anything.

What advice would you give to someone who is starting their yoga journey?

You do you! Instead of comparing your yoga practice with others try to build a connection with your own inner voice that will then guide you to where YOUR body, mind and emotions need attention. And don’t forget to breathe while doing so (:

How do you include yoga in your daily life?

I usually take classes to learn and grow and keep being inspired. Also, there are so many opportunities in daily life where I’m reminded of my yoga practice, such as when I’m standing patiently in a long line at the supermarket or when I’m listening without judgement in a conversation… to me, the invitation to do Yoga is everywhere.

What can I expect when I join one of your classes?

My classes usually start with a guided meditation that aims to help you calm down and arrive in the present moment. Since I’m mostly teaching Yin Yoga I always remind you to connect with your breath and your inner voice instead of making the practice about what it looks like from the outside. I want to guide my students in exploring how wonderful it is to just BE – fully aware in the present moment without already thinking about the next to do on their list.

What is your favorite asana?

In Yin Yoga my favorite asana is Sleeping Swan pose and in Hatha Yoga it’s a powerful, connected Warrior 1.
