Pre & Postnatal Yoga
Would you like to support women through pregnancy and the postnatal period with yoga, breath and mindful movement?
This training gives you a practical foundation for planning and teaching Pre- and Postnatal Yoga responsibly, with an understanding of how pregnancy and the postnatal period affect movement, breath and class design. You will explore how asana, breathing practices and other yogic tools can be adapted to support the physical and emotional needs of these different stages.
Why specialised training matters
Pregnancy and the months after birth can change balance, mobility, energy, breathing patterns and the way a student experiences movement. A general yoga teacher training may touch on these topics, but teaching this population with confidence requires more time, context and practical application. In this training we look beyond a simple list of poses to avoid and focus instead on understanding the person in front of you, making thoughtful choices and creating classes that feel supportive rather than restrictive.
Who is this training for?
The course is especially useful for yoga teachers and teacher trainees who want to expand their skills, but it is also open to experienced practitioners with a genuine interest in pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period. You do not need previous Pre- or Postnatal Yoga training. What matters most is a regular yoga practice, curiosity and a willingness to learn responsibly.
From knowledge to real teaching
Throughout the three days we connect anatomy and theory directly with class design. You will practise adapting poses, exploring different ways to use props, sequencing for changing needs and thinking through real teaching situations. The aim is not to follow one fixed formula, but to develop a clearer framework for making appropriate decisions in your own classes. The training takes place at Lotos Yoga Academy in Berlin-Friedrichshain, giving you space to learn, practise, ask questions and exchange ideas with other teachers.
