Course Introductions

Warm welcome to this course lovely yin-ster!

Before starting the lessons you can download the work-manual and preferably print it. If this is not possible for you, you might have a note-book where you can write down notes and activities we will be doing.

This is an online course and therefore you will be free to set your own schedule. This is a huge benefit for two reasons:

1. You can adapt to your own schedule.

2. You can give yourself as much time as you need to digest the material.

Let each block take the time that it needs. Savor each activity. Time is your friend!

I recommend that you plan ahead how you will go through this course.

For example:

week 1 – block 1

week 2 – block 2 etc..

Or if you have a week or two off, you might take one block per day and create your own immersion week!

There is a total of six blocks and each block takes about 2-4 hours to complete

For each lesson, there are corresponding pages in the manual for you to read and it follows up with activities, sometimes written, sometimes explorative.

After each block there is a quiz. Don´t worry if you need to do it several times. Allow to repeat the quiz until you feel confident answering the questions.

Some of us love to read, others don´t, we all process things in different ways. However I do recommend that you take the time to read through the pages in the manual. You can choose if you prefer to start with the video lesson and then read the pages, or if you prefer to read through the pages first. The video lessons and the manual complement each other and the activities and quizzes allow you to embody the information. They are all important steps in order to develop the skills necessary for you to start teaching.

You might do this course, not because you want to teach, but because you want to understand the practice of yin yoga and to become independent in your own practice. I welcome you to still do every step of the way, with activities and quizzes, because it will help you create a deeper understanding for what’s happening in your body. You will learn how to create your own yin yoga practice, that you can do wherever you are. You will gain the knowledge to practice on your own and to understand which movements are good for you and which sensations to avoid in order to practice in a safe way that supports your individual body and needs.

It is important when you go through this course that you take time to practice lots of yin yoga. There will be several classes included in this course that you can do many times. We learn by experiencing. Start with a class directly! As you go through the blocks, the experience of the same class might change.
